Can I just mention that not all pet owners agree with the "pet owner" views presented on the list? I know I am in the minority, but I am just a pet owner who wouldn't like to see mandatory health testing (for the reasons already stated on the list), is a member of the CKCSC who would vote for AKC recognition, and believes that I neither have the knowledge nor the right to vote on things such as the breed standard, etc. and agree with the ACKCSC's reasoning for limiting the pet owner vote. I figure I, as a pet owner, can do most to benefit the breed by educating people interested in a Cavalier about the breed and helping them to find a breeder who is breeding to improve the breed and steer them away from commercial breeders/importers. I enjoy working with my Cavaliers in obedience and agility, attending conformation shows, looking at pedigrees and am slowly learning to evaluate movement and type. But in the end, I am "just a pet owner" who is most comfortable leaving the breeding decisions to the breeders!!
