This is exactly what good mediation can do. Roger Fisher ("Getting to
Yes"), professor at Harvard Law School who teaches negotiation and
mediation is affiliated also with a private group. Can't recall the
name of the group, but I used them once and thought that they were very
good. I took Prof. Fisher's course doing some continuing ed; had the
opportunity to negotiate with lawyers from all over the world on
theoretical issues.
It can be done.
