At the Ozark Kennel Club show here yesterday, all handlers (both owner- handlers and paid one) stood except for one paid handler who was on his knees hard-stacking his dog. Guess who won WD/BW/BB (no specials) :-( Even the other handler was aghast and said loudly "I HATE that being on the knees." Guess Dr. Bob Berndt didn't read his letter, or didn't care, since nothing was said. The handler and judge are also members of the same kennel club and know each other --- NOT that I think that had anything to do with the win :-) It might just have been by far the best dog. :-) This handler has told me personally he dyes noses. I wonder about doing tails...?? The owner of the dog is a USDA breeder and, like many around here are starting to do, has one or two AKC dogs that they either show themselves or put out with a handler so they can advertise AKC wins and titles in their commercial kennel -- although their other dogs might be FIC (or other bogus) registered.
