I have been lurking for a few days, but feel that I need to put my two cents in here. I am a "pet" owner. I would NEVER return a dog to a disreputable breeder. After investing time, energy and LOVE into a puppy I would NOT be able to return it to someone who had NO interest in it's well being from the very beginning. I have HAD this happen to me. I bought a Boston Terrier from a BYB (not knowing what I was doing and thought I was doing it right by NOT buying from a Pet store...but from a "breeder"). This little guy came down with demodetic mange...also has luxating patella's and a digestive system that would make a bulimic look NORMAL. Would I have given him BACK to the person who didn't care about anything except the money they were making on puppies? NOT on your life, to me that wouldn't accomplish anything except betraying the trust of a living being. BUT....after years of learning....I try and make sure that others get educated about how to find a reputable breeder AND actually I think that the message is getting out there. People are starting to ask the right questions. There IS more awareness about puppy mills and importers. It is a slow start, but you have to crawl before you can run!
