Peggy Sometimes a bitch will have an 'incomplete' or 'false' season - she bleeds, but doesn't ovulate - One of those 2 cycles MAY have been a false season - ie, she came in but didn't ovulate, so came in again when she did ovulate - Sometimes hormones are just out of whack & they cycle quicker, too - I have a Bernese Mt Dog that cycled every 4-1/2 to 5 months - until I spayed her! Enough of that! Actually, when she was 2 we found out she had bad elbows, but those frequent cycles went on from 7 months until 25 months - and was a but challenging to live with - I never had any indication of any 'illness' causing the frequent cycles - and she has never been sick since - she is now about 5-1/2 yrs old -
