Joan, My first bitch, Meghan came in at about 41/2 months, it was a false heat, but she truned around and had another heat within a month. She then cycled about every 4 1/2 months, except after a litter. She had five litters in her lifetime and did not have any problems until her last litter at about age 6. She had a litter of 4, 6, 3, 8, and 2. So I do not see your little girls cycle as being abnormal. All my girls cycle about every 41/2 to 51/2 months. And first cycle was usually about 6 onths old.
