I can tell you my experience with "snow" noses. I've had many samoyeds over the last 20 something years before I got my cavaliers. In all cases except one, once their nose turned to the pink "snow" nose, it never came back to black. In one case, however, I had sent one of my girls with a very pink snow nose to Pennsylvania for about 9 months to be shown. Guess what? She came back with a black nose. My friend said she hadn't done anything different than I. She kept her on the same diet, etc. But after a month of being home her nose went pink again. We joked that it must be the water. I couldn't honestly tell you why in turned black in PA and back to pink in NY. Currently I have 2 blenheims and two tri's and one of my blenheim's nose is "fading" and my one last samoyed still has a black nose at 10 years old. Go figure.
