Thanks all for the information and your thoughts on this subject.  I would
guess that Callie's browning nose is probably genetic since I've recently
been noticing that her chestnut colors are also fading a bit, too.  However,
she DOES live in WNY where we've had a long gloomier than normal winter and
spring (spring? what spring?).

Well, perhaps if the sun/south theory is at all valid, it's because PA IS
south of NY <grn>.  Callie has informed me that we should test this theory by
sending her on a Caribbean cruise -- alone.
       I AM going to try adding some kelp to her diet for a little while to
see if it does happen.  I just hope Callie and her siblings don't start
asking for the sushi to go along with it...I'm with Jan Rinker when it comes
to fish: the smell gags me, probably because I'm allergic to a lot of the
seafood things (except lobster and shrimp, thank goodness).
