Interesting idea, that chemistry of water may be a factor in sensitive individuals. I've recently moved to the country to a home with a well - lots of iron in the water - I've seen improvement in their pigment....Their pigment had been slightly off (in 2 of the dogs), I've just checked, both are now jet black. Well I have always fed from stainless steel bowls and I have had dogs that have 'winter' nose. Equally when they have been away particularly in the north East of England where there is a lot of iron in the soil within a week - jet black! I'm a believer that the water can have an effect - if only on some of my dogs (only one line is effected).
