I don't expect people to know the names of all the breeds, but when they are
interested in acquiring a dog of a particular breed, I do expect them to know
the correct name of it.
I learned all the breeds before I was 9--and the new ones since. I expect
anyone else who's been around as long as I have to know the breeds recognized by
the AKC-- on the other hand, I remember sitting watching a Terrier group with a
well-known Terrier group judge (now deceased) who asked me why there were two
Welsh in the group...she couldn't tell the difference between the Welsh and the
Lakeland....
