Alida -
Make a trip to a building supply store & talk to someone there - it will
help you a lot!
There is a 'barrier' that is made for protecting screen doors - it is
more solid than the hardware cloth - at least in the middle - and it
might take the abuse of being jumped on / against even better than the
hardware cloth.
I would think this 'panel' or 'barrier' would be one good option as well
as the hardware cloth. I most definitely would think it would protect
your fine screen that keeps the mosquitoes & such out while standing up
to little toenails & such -
Yes - a toenail might 'hang' in hardware cloth - it might - but - I
would think your dog would handle it just fine without that problem --
Again - I'd recommend a trip to Home Depot or Lowes or some other
building supply place near you --
None of the above mentioned things would be very expensive - but could
save your screen door!
