Mine is in my storm door and just now I have had to replace the flaps - 14 years of hard use caught up with it :o) The storm door is the best situation for me as my dogs cannot get outside unless I am home and have my inner den open to the yard. My old door was made by Johnson Pet Doors - they have been bought out by a new company but thankfully the doors are the same. It has been VERY durable. The size I put in is the medium. If you are putting in a storm door I would put the pet door as low as possible as the dogs already have a reach to get over the bottom door jam.
