Hi Laura,

The board certified ophthalmologist that I use suggests testing eyes at 8 or
9 weeks because they are born with folds, they do not 'develop' them. The
problem with waiting until later to check is them is that over time the
folds may smooth out as the eye grows and become invisible (like wrinkles on
a shirt that flatten out when you iron them). At this point in time,
breeding with folds is at the breeder's discretion, geographic retinal
dysplasia is considered to be unbreedable. So, there you have my
ophthalmologist's take on this.
