Carol,

I have leather furniture and have found that it works the best. While mine
have not make decoarting changes to the original design, I have wiped off
a lot of stuff. With fabric I was always cleaning and washing. We just
added new slipcovers to one of our fabric sofas and it wasn't on but maybe
10 minutes when Gilbert christened the corner of it. But that was only
toppedled by Keeper peeing in the middle of it. They are washable and they
went right into the wash. It must be a mindset that "Oh mom has new stuff,
let's wreck it!"

Talk about belly bands - each night we have the belly band brigade of our
oldie males and Keeper. They know, if they stay in the bedroom, they come
with protection. We have started using them during the day while they are
running free in the house. Saves washing time and relieves a lot of
frustration.

When we replace that fabric sofa it will be with leather. But I have to
admit that I drool over some of the fabric pieces that I see these days.
However, praticality wins out. Dogs in house, leather on furniture.

Good Luck

Sharona
