They are just built-in vacuum cleaners.  Besides having the places in the
baseboard for the vacuum cleaner attachments, you can have places in the
wall that you open that sucks stuff in.  My sister has one, but she does
sweep the "stuff" over to the opening and then kicks it in.  I hadn't
thought about that for the hair balls, but it really would be wonderful!
