I need some advise from anybody that has knowledge on acupuncture and chiropractic for dogs. As some of you may remember from previous posts in the past, I have a puppy mill girl that has made it to 12 years of age. She has multiple health problems but the one that is severely impacting her right now is severe hip dysplasia. Her hips are so bad and have been since diagnosed at the age of 4, that my vet said she wasn't even a surgical candidate. She takes an Adequan injection monthly, Rimydil as needed and she uses a ramp to go in and out of the house. I took her to my chiropractor last Friday who thought she could possible benefit from manipulation. Another chiropractor in the city does canines. Today my vet gave me the name of another vet here in Lexington that does acupuncture. My question is, which of these two modalities would be the most beneficial and less traumatic on the animal? Chelsea is deaf among other health concerns and she has severe separation anxiety. Any thoughts on this topic would be greatly appreciated.
