How would it benefit the breed to offend AKC breeders? If someone spits on me, I certainly would not say thanks for noticing me! To say that I should bow down to the CKCSC and allow then to make my dogs second class citizens for the better of the breed is ridiculous. If the CKCSC members really wanted what was better for the breed, they would insist to be allowed to use whichever dog was best for their breeding program regardless of registry.
