But all anyone has to do is read the posts on this subject to see the multiple comments of (paraphrased): "nobody is going to tell me to test my own dogs"; "I don't think testing helps"; "I test but don't want to have to prove it"; yada, yada. Perhaps rather than blaming pet owners for 'tying your hands' you might put a little pressure on other breeders to stop breeding too young/old/frequently; stop burying their heads in the sand with regards to testing; stop breeding incorrect temperament, bad hips, smaller/larger than standard, etc. I *only* speak out because I'm an owner who loves my dogs and the breed in general and truly believe our dogs are doomed if we continue in the same manner. So as much as you resent the pet owner getting involved in this matter, I feel it's my moral responsibility. Believe me, I don't enjoy the 'barbs', the nasty behind-the-scene comments (and they DO get around) and constantly having to explain myself, but continue to do so with the hope that someday I'll hit upon the correct phrasing that rings a bell with people.
