Pat Barrington's point is well taken.  I agree that taking away the freshly
killed wild bird is the absolute safest way to go, given you have the
opportunity to get to it before your dogs do.

PLUS, who knows what state of health this bird was in (parasites, toxins,
disease).>Chances are pretty good that all is well, but I think that based
on what
you have shared, I would try to ensure that your dog is NOT just "allowed"
to eat these offerings.  Even though my dogs eat a raw meat, bone, veggie
diet, I would still take away a wild bird from them if I had the chance.
