With due respect I have been using honey when weaning puppies for the last
twenty odd years plus on the odd occasion when having to supplement a
failing puppy that was even younger. (See John Evans' book for the mixture
he recommends) I have never had any problems what so ever.
Just my opinion

I would be careful using honey on a puppy. In human babies, administration
of honey to infants under one year old can actually lead to a bacterial
infection that can kill children. Under this age, they lack an enzyme that
is present when older that neutralizes this bacteria. I'm not certain if
puppies have a similar problem, but I wouldn't risk it. This bacteria seems
to be in all honey, and doesn't seem to be killed by processing.

A very good suggestion Vicky, I certainly would not be giving this puppy a
pinch of this or a tablet of this and especially not any further
antibiotics.
I would suggest that he is put on a very bland elimination diet of boiled
rice and chicken with some yoghurt. If all goes well then slowly add in
other foods one at a time, but slowly. If he has a reaction with loose
stools then there is cause to believe there may be a food allergy.
We have a wonderful homeopathic remedy here called koromiko which is
fabulous for diarrhoea it will stop it within hours if it is just a slightly
upset tummy due to stress or change of water. However as a koromiko is a
native New Zealand tree it may not be available anywhere else. Another
excellent more natural remedy which has proven antibiotic properties is
active Manuka honey, is you can find this a tsp of this 2-3 times a day may
also be helpful.
