Robin, The fact that this vet is with PetSmart says a lot. I would suggest to her that she see another vet, start using Otomax until the yeast infection clears up, and then use DermaPet once or twice a week on a regular basis. The dog may be prone to yeast infections. I would not suggest she see your own vet, though, because if anything happened to her dog while in your vet's care it would, of course (in her mind), be all your fault.
Then I would not let Teddy play with her dog anymore. I know all this is easier said than done, but as it is highly unlikely that Teddy had anything to do with this dog's ear infections, I would not even consider paying the bill.
