Sorry this is incorrect Linda. Tricolour is a dominant gene.A dog just needs
one allele to be a tricolour. 2 tris can produce blenheims if they both
carry carry blenheim .What you have said is absolutely correct if you change
the word tricolour to blenheim.Blenheim is the recessive gene.
