Yes. The last thing (I am told by the veterinarian experts) a puppy does
before he/she is born is color up. Some puppies inherit a late coloring gene
so they are born with a little white on the muzzle, a blaze, white feet and
tail tip. By the time they are a few weeks old, it has finished coloring in.
This was common in a well deservedly famous buff American Cocker line for
decades. People bred to the wonderful Artru dogs and some of the puppies
were born mismarked and people went wild. Then they had to all sheepishly
confess that everything was fine!
