Ah, I see the angle you are looking at it from now is through the absence of direction. I was thinking in comparison to the Cavalier standard which specifically states no trimming and thought I had missed something in the Pap standard. However, in comparison to the Golden standard which says stray hairs may be neatened it didn't occur to me that a lack of direction could also be interpreted to mean no trimming. Thank you for pointing that out. Jaclair Ziggi is way before my time, '70's right but prior to Mrs. Babbige's passing? Lucky you to have been part of such a well known kennel that contributed so much to the breed not only in Canada but here as well.
