Well...there have been a few security issues and viruses designed around the *nix platform.  True nough that Linux is a secure stable OS, but like anything that is connected to the net, it is ALWAYS better to be safe than sorry.  Ask yourself this...would you want to be a major enterprise level corporation that scimps on a few dollars becuase Linux by itself is good enough?

From what I have read, there seems to be a split on the decision to use antivirus software in Linux, some think that the system is so good that there is no need for it, and others think that safe is better than sorry. Any thoughts?

Hi everyone,

I was just doing a bit of research on virus protection and Linux, does anyone know of a free virus protection program that will work nicely with RH8 ?

I have a laptop that will see plenty of mail and internet usage, and would like it to be safe from virus attacks.
