So I haven't followed this thread much at all. If I am assuming too
much when I write this then simply ignore it. I have a RH 8.0 machine,
works fine. Though I went from a Matrox G400 to a NVIDIA G200 MX. The
first drivers I had from nvidia were ok but I saw some freezing on
OpenGL screensavers. A few weeks (perhaps months???) they released new
drivers and that fixed my crashes. I would suggest getting those from
NVIDIA. I've used RH from version 5.0 till now and never had a problem
like this on stock machines until the closed nvidia drivers... or
working on/with developmental kernel stuff. So I think it has less to
do with the Distro and release number then the drivers nvidia has out...
Those are just my 2 cents...
