What exactly is the error message your getting? Usually when apt messes itself 
up like that, I take a look at what version it's looking for. Then either 
uninstall the package if you don't need it, or find the correct version of 
the .deb package on the Internet and install it manually. Once apt is 
satisfied, it won't give you errors anymore. I know there is a list of apt 
sources somewhere, but I don't remember the web site. I would check out 
debian.org but I would also take a look in your /etc/apt/sources.list file as 
knoppix comes with lots of sources by default, although many of the will 
probably be commented out.
