Not a problem, I'm glad you got it working. And yes, the downside of installing Knoppix is that you get everything that's on the CD. Luckily you can tweak it post-install :). BTW I have been playing with Synaptic lately, and it's a very nice front-end for apt. If your looking for a nice GUI I would give it a try. At the very least it's much better than trying to mess around with dselect to manage your packages.
