For Apple stuff, I've found Westworld Computers (www.westworld.ca) decent, they definitely know their stuff and their prices are really good. They're in the 1000 block of Center St (North) and parking is limited. There's another Mac dealer called MyMacDealer, but they're not exactly the best in the (western) world. I have experience with both, if you want to hear more, feel free to contact me off-list ([EMAIL PROTECTED]). Of course, there are other places that carry Apple products, but they're in a boat similar to MyMacDealer's (I have a list of addresses).
**Note: There will (probably) be a MacWorld conference in June or July which means that hardware prices may drop (my guess is ~20%) and hardware will be updated (think: G5 PowerBooks). If you're lucky, you may be able to get a [cheap] upgrade after Jobs' keynote.
Now, for HP notebooks I'd probably wind up going to Staples (loads of HP stuff) or London Drugs (they're decent and carry Apple stuff too). I had to ask a former HP rep, I'm pretty much clueless about HP's. There's lots of other places that will carry HP notebooks, but your best bet would be Staples or London Drugs.
Good luck on your quest! Katrina
Hi All,
I've been elected to purchase a new notebook for my sister. I'm currently
looking at an Apple PowerBook or, in the event that the PowerBook is too
expensive, an HP x1000. I was wondering if anyone on the CLUG list can
recommend any good shops/dealers in the Calgary area that would carry
Apple or HP notebooks. Also, any recommendations on other notebook models
would be great.
Many Thanks, Jacob
