I'm subscribed to both (obviously). If there's ever anything on either list
I feel that I can contribute to - I do. Obviously :)
I agree 100% with the changes, I think its an excellent way to distinguish
100% linux traffic from "noise".

My $0.02 on the whole samba example is:

-If it runs on Linux, and it is technical - it should be on clug-tech

Samba runs on Linux. Yes, it is used to connect to Windows, but - Samba is
Linux software.
Now, if it was a question of "How can I get my Windows box to connect to a
[properly configured] samba server"
Then it belongs on -talk .

Another possible guideline: If you're unsure, clug-talk.

(ps, this discussion is not technical in nature so should be moved to
clug-talk???)

Ermm, it is on clug-talk Shawn :)

Hi Dave,

It makes sense to me and I think it's a good idea. At the onset, though,
I'm finding it tough to deal with because the new tech list is really,
really quiet. So quiet, in fact, that it's almost not worth posting to
because so few people are reading (or at least responding to) it. I feel
like I've lost a great resource for assistance, but I concede that
perhaps that was never the purpose of clug-talk.

I know that the momentum will pick up as more people subscribe and since
I can see the long term benefit of splitting the two themes I'm onside
with it. I just wish everyone would freakin' subscribe to it already!

My 0.02

J

There's nothing wrong with complaining.......
but it's better to come to the table with a solution.
