I just noticed that kolab is packaged for Ubuntu Feisty.  I did a server
install to keep the machine lean.  When searching for LDAP I stumbled
upon it.

aptitude search kolab

Not sure how well it works, but it seems reasonably recent (2.2.13).  An
apt upgradeable kolab, just what I thought Kolab needed.
