I was thinking about having my own mail server. I own a domain name and right
now, Telus is hosting it as a mail only domain, no web site. I have lots of
older hardware that would make good Linux boxes. I have Shaw cable at home and
that's where I'd put the box. Is this possible and what would be the pitfalls?
What parts am I not thinking of other than not wanting to pay Telus every
month? I'm a relative newbie at Linux although I did use Xenix a fair bit some
20 years ago. My Linux box right now is using Ubuntu 7.10. If needed, I would
be willing to pay someone to take the box and set everything up. Any ideas or
criticisms?
