The 4-digit Hauppage cards look like they support QAM.  I assume there
would be a list of supported cards on the MythTV site somewhere.

I use a 350 (older Hauppage card) at home, no QAM, but the card itself
works well.  I'm not sure I would trust a USB device for 24/7
operation.  If you don't need it to work 24/7, then I'm sure it would
be worth looking into.

An extra $30 for a PCI card and a remote control seems like a good
deal to me, if you don't have a remote already.
