You can remove 'HAL' devices with the command: hal-device -r <udi> You can find the <udi> by just using 'hal-device' and parsing the output, the <udi> will look something like: '/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/computer_logicaldev_input_2' There may be a way of making a blacklist in HAL too...
