Actually, you probably won't have to make it 1pt higher, so long as
the z-ordering is correct.  You should be able to get away with

clutter_container_add(CLUTTER_CONTAINER(yourGroup), yourTexture,
yourBlackRectangle, NULL);

and, if that doesn't quite work, add:

clutter_container_raise_child(CLUTTER_CONTAINER(yourGroup),
yourBlackRectangle, NULL)
