Download the MDS correction policy at  http://www.qtso.com/mdsdownload.html.  It applies to all type of MDS assessments.

There is no problem with correcting the PPS assessment.  The timeframe issue is that the adjustment bill to correct the payment must be sent within 120 days of the service "through" date on the claim covered by the assessment.  See transmittal A-02-121 at http://cms.hhs.gov/manuals/pm_trans/A02121.pdf.

I have a question regarding correcting mds's that are pps. I have already transmitted an assmt to the state and it has been accepted. I found a few days later that the resident was receiving skilled rehab am I able to submit a correction mds? And if I can how far back can you correct the mds's? I need to know if and where in the final rule this is covered so I can see the policy.

thanks
