Guess the DON never read the manual or she was never inserviced on it.  On the other hand, this is not real rare in the world either.  Has happened at some time for some reason at almost every facility I've worked.

Can you believe my DON asked me what needed to be done when I was out this week and I told her my notes needed to be written in the chart. She said OK but didn't know who would be doing them when I was out.
I can top this one.  I was out for over a month d/t a car accident and when I came back, still had several weeks worth of MDS's due that no one else got too (there are three other NAC's in the facility).  I was expected to get them all done, and sign them as if I was there!  I don't think so.  I did the best I could, but took them to the DON to sign.  She was not happy to sign but I refused.  Why do these people not get it???
