The accountability for the integrity of the RAI and PPS systems in the facility lies with the administrator. When you identify that the systems are not in compliance with state or federal regulations and correcting the noncompliance is out of your control, my recommendation is that you report the noncompliance to the administrator. Be prepared to provide documentation from the regulations to support your statements (in the case at hand, see RAI User's Manual, page 2-1 and page 3-29), and then the ball is rightly in the administrator's court.

Rena, or anyone with knowledge about section N:
We are having a hard time with the activities department completing the MDS timely. They completely disregard the ARD. The AD said she didn't care about the ARD, that it
doesn't mean a damn thing to her. They have to do a 30 day assessment. Now, I know the RAI manual says 7 day look back for all of section N. She has the LTC calendar with the ARD of January 26 already completed and is now wanting the new (Feb) calendar. As a matter of fact, dietary also works ahead. If we don't give it to her, she goes to the powers that be and complains. So we end up giving in. If I can get in writing that she has to follow the ARD like every other department, maybe it will do some good. Thank you in advance!
Suzanne
