The 14-day assessment covers day 15-30 so does not need to be done if resident is gone
>>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] 01/19/04 12:14PM >>> We are hospital based, most everyone goes home before day 14 so we do the initial assmt with the 14 day mds. Our ard is usually day 12---but if the pt discharges on day 14 I was always under the understanding that the 14 day assmt did not have to be completed, *-Am I wrong???? >>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] 1/19/2004 11:41:07 AM >>> If the resident was at your facility for 14 days, then your assessment must be coded as an admission assessment completed with raps. Remember that a new admit still needs RAPS doen by day 14. If RAPS are already done follow the instructions in RAI manual, page 3-239, and enter same date in VB2 as in VB1. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Saturday, January 17, 2004 12:41 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: 14 day medicare If an admitted res on medicare goes to hospital after the 14 day admission assessment is completed with raps and all, is it necessary to do another?
