My standing admit orders say P.T.or O.T. or Speech eval and Tx.Whatever is appropriate
is checked off as part of the admit.I don't count admission orders that are on the
referral i.e.therpy orders .After the eval is done a clarification order is
written,day of admit or within next 1-2 days.I don't count that order either.The only
time I count a therapy order is if the initial therapy order is extended for a medical
reason ,that is when the first order is ready to run out and rehab wants to extend.I
consider the extention an unusual occurance that happened because of a change of the
patient's condition.
