Dawn, I also started to do the MDS in 1989 on paper. I thought at that time what a lot of work. The booklet the DON gave me was about 1/2 of an inch thick. I actually took it on vacation to read. When I got back I told her that it was too involved and that she should choose someone else to do this "thing". Then 11 years later the same DON recruited me to be the MDS nurse, boy what a change! Now I wouldn't do anything else. And my what a difference in the width of the instruction "booklet" :0)

Pam: I never saw that booklet! I was kinda "thrown" in and taught by the DON. Things have sure changed. I agree, I wouldn't do anything else either. Everyday is a challenge.......
