A restorative nursing program must be "carried out or supervised by members of the nursing staff," according to the RAI User's Manual (p. 3-192).   The RAI User's Manual also states, "Although therapists may participate, members of the nursing staff are still responsible for overall coordination and supervision of restorative nursing programs" (p. 3-194).

Question about restorative: Is it MANDATORY that a nurse maintain the restorative program? We are a hospital based SNF that has on-site PT/OT &they have always evaluated &written the programs - &the rehab aide "belongs" to the Rehab department. Any direction would be appreciated.
