If you are in a state that uses the MDS for Medicaid payment, then your state may have its own rules about coding some of the MDS items over and above the federal requirements.

If you are not in a state that uses the MDS for Medicaid payment, then focus only on the federal requirements as outlined in the RAI User's Manual.

Be careful here - I think we are mixing state-specific rules related to state casemix reimbursement under Medicaid with federal rules for Medicare Part A.

Need 5 days/week for Medicare A and 6 days for Medicare B??????  I thought was 6 days/week for Med A????
Does not have to be in conjunction w therapy or clinical issues?? 
My administrator is asking me for clerification??
