We try to get our clients &/or families to participate but most of our clients (short term snf rehab mostly) are alert & oriented & question the need for anyone to attend since they are involved in their own care and know how they are doing, dishcarge plans, etc and don't hesitate to let us know if something needs adjusted. We do have 7 permanent ICF clients and their families seldom attend any facility meetings but are otherwise interactive with staff regarding family members care. However, we have our "multidisciplinary" meeting every Thursday and review then document on the clients from the preceding 7 days (example: on 5/13 we reviewed for dates 5/6 thru 5/12). Works the same for our medicare clients as well as live-ins.

We hold our care plan meetings and sign off at VB4 that date [ which is ,by regulation, within 7 days of VB2.] The family is invited, sometimes they attend , sometimes they can't make it so they ask us to re-schedule. Even if we re-schedule we finalize all the paperwork and then review the CCP another day.
