Well, it seems to me different doctors have different views on what can be prescribed for pain. I have been taking vicrophen, a combination of hydrocodone and ibuprofen for nearly 2 years, (it will be in January) and my doctor doesn't seem to think it is dangerous. My liver checks are always ok. I suppose I am one of the unlucky ones where the side effects of bone pain have not went away with time. I admit it is not the extreme severity it was in the beginning but it is quite severe at times. I went almost a month recently without anything for pain and I didn't realize the extent of how bad I did hurt until I had nothing to take. During this time, I took a lot of ibuprofen. Maybe you should explain to your doctor that you are corresponding with other CMLer's who are being prescribed pain medications. You shouldn't have to suffer and I'm sure there is a doctor somewhere who would understand. Have you tried any pain clinics? Just a suggestion. Hope something works out for you.
