Oh man,

That nurse reminds me of the one that told me about my White Cell count before I was first dx'ed with CML. I was at work and she called me with my blood work results. At first the way she was acting I thought I had an STD..hehe(Oh boy my ex would have had some explaining to do if that had been the case..rotfl) Well about a minute into the conversation she pauses and said something to the effect..I am so sorry but your WBC is 100,000 (or something like that) and the tone of her voice made it sound like I was a goner. When I ask her what that meant she just told me my primary doc has made an emergency appointment with a doctor at Louisville Onco and that was all she knew. Mind you I was at work and so I jumped on the net and went to Web MD, and boom, Leukemia came up as a the most likely candidate. I was a mess. Anyway just wanted to let you know I can relate to how some in the the health care field really care about patients but need to know how to talk to people..hehe.

Take care,

Terry

Thank you everyone for your opinions, I feel much better knowing it
isn't as bad as I was told. The way the nurse told me on the phone it
sounded like my results were horrible. She made it sound like they
don't know what do to next. I am going to write down everyones
questions and take them with me on the 25th. Hopefully they will be
able to tell me what this abnormality is and if it is serious. I am
also looking for a good cancer center that is knowlegable(sp?) in CML.
Does anyone have any suggestions?  I live on the Florida and Georgia
border. I am seriously thinking about Fred Hutch, but if there is a
reputable one closer I will try that one.
Again thank you everyone for your input. I appreciate it so much.

Thanks,
