Hi Suzzie, I am going from full time to part time work this year. I
am just too tired to do anything besides simply work when I work full
time. I am just a "zombie" when I get home and on the weekends with
full time work. This won't help my retirement, but I have decided to
be poor, but happy. I need some energy for my family and some
recreation too. I do walk regularly and do yoga several times a week.
This helps, but I still have to deal with issues that others don't.
We CMLers look so "normally healthy" that people forget we may have
side effects. I have been on Gleevec for 5+ years with good results.
I think that most of the CML nurses and doctors don't know how to work
with us now that this can become a "chronic" condition. They don't
have much they can use to treat fatigue and discomfort, except for
major problems. I have even had nurses tell me that now that CML
patients haven't had to take Interferon they complain all the time and
don't know how lucky they are. I think we all feel lucky, but are
trying to lead regular lives under tough conditions.
