Hi Fellow Survivors: I will soon be celebrating 7 years with CML & Gleevec. I believe it was right around the last week of Jan. 2004 when I was told what I had. I did not know a thing about Leukemia.....did not know the many types of blood cancers. It's definitely been an eye opening experience, that's for sure.
I've noticed that since the pharmacy I get my "mail ordered" Gleevec from once a month changed names a couple of months back, they now enclose an invoice where they print the full price that they charge our insurance for the Gleevec. Well, last month a 30 day supply of 400mgs. was $3 shy of $4500. I just received this month's yesterday and it has gone up to $4717. WOW is all I can say. I just wonder if it keeps going up each month, how long it will be before my insurance balks at paying.
