Hello fellow CML'ers: I've been having an ongoing problem with my teeth for past couple of months. I first thought it was actually a tooth that needed attention from the dentist, but then it started affecting all the upper teeth and so I blamed it on my sinuses as I was having some allergy problems at the time. Well here we are going on two months and I'm still having this annoying problem and I've decided it isn't sinuses. I do not know whether to go see my dentist or if it might be a side effect from the Gleevec.
I'm having tingling sensations off and on in random teeth.....nothing severe but just rather annoying. Is anyone else in our group here bothered with this problem at one time or another? If so, does it eventually go away like some of the other side effects have done? This is the first time after 7 years of Gleevec that I've had a problem with my mouth. I've also noticed for past couple of weeks or so, I've had a few more sores on my tongue than in the past. Has anyone been bothered by this problem, too? I never know whether anything else is going on with me or if it's the Gleevec & I hate this "not knowing" part. It makes if very difficult to explain it to a doctor or nurse & what to do or how to treat it. Thanks to all of you in our group & I enjoy reading all of your posts. I know we all have this daily struggle & it is wonderful to have others who know and understand what we each go through on a daily basis. I'm glad we can all help one another. I've noticed that over the years that I've been a member of our group, several have disappeared. I sure miss hearing from them and do hope that they are doing well.
