My mother is one of seven girls and all of her sisters have hair that thinned as they aged. But I also noticed the eyebrows, too. Hair loss is a side effect of Gleevec that some people experience. My eye doctor gave me a field vision, test which I failed, and sent me to a plastic surgeon with a recommendation for an eyelid lift. The surgeon is someone I have known for 35 years, Chief at Johns Hopkins, and since I am in remission and bloodwork has been good, I am scheduled for this procedure on 8/23. I have my 3 month FISH and BCR-ABL on Friday and the outcome of that will determine whether or not surgery takes place. Just wondering is it worth the risk when I have this underlying illness. The doctors seem to feel that it will be perfectly fine. I would love to hear some feedback and hope that you, Victoria, find some comfort in knowing that you are not alone in going through this issue.
